When you have finished university and passed your exams, you will get a special certificate called a degree. You are given your degree in a ceremony called graduation. Your parents or carers might come along to watch and celebrate with you. You will wear a black hat (known as a mortarboard), a robe and a hood. The colour of your hood represents the course/subject that you studied. It is a proud day for your parents/carers who will take pictures of you and the friends that you have made at university. Some people take pictures of the graduates throwing their mortarboards in the air!
